MUMBAI: The Investment and Development Agency of Ireland is planning its first office in India. Through this office, IDA Ireland will unlock a gateway for Indian companies to expand and develop their businesses in Europe. This was announced by Barry Andrews, minister of state for health and children in the Government of Ireland, in a press meet in Mumbai.

“We are extremely pleased to celebrate the establishment of our first office here in Mumbai. The resources of IDA Ireland are now available to assist Indian companies who want to move to Europe,” said Minister Andrews. “We are confident that this is the beginning of a win-win partnership with the Indian business community to match the best of Irish capabilities and talents to the needs of Indian investors.”

Founded in 1969, IDA Ireland is the agency of the Irish Government responsible for securing new investment from overseas in the manufacturing and internationally traded services sectors. It also encourages existing investors to expand and develop their businesses in Ireland. The agency has 13 offices around the world. In Asia, IDA Ireland operates in Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai and Sydney. IDA Ireland’s new Mumbai office will focus on helping Indian companies to realize their global aspirations by targeting the European market.
